In 1958 NYC, aspiring inventor Norville lands an entry-level mailroom clerk job at Hudsucker Industries. When the company’s President unexpectedly jumps out a window, a corrupt board member nominates naive Norville to  become a “proxy” President that he can easily puppeteer. Blissfully unaware of the blatant manipulation, bright-eyed Norville takes the opportunity to pitch his simple inventions amidst hijinks and investigations.
